TBCompositions (“we,” “our,” or “us”) is thankful for your interest in buying/commissioning music from us!
Purchasing music
Purchasing music from TBCompositions gives you the right to perform the music publicly for free and to record for personal/rehearsal use for learning the work (more info in the next section). It does not give you the right to perform for any type of financial gain or record with the intent to share with any other parties. Any work from TBCompositions performed for any type of financial gain or recorded for use outside the rehearsal without permission from TBCompositions will result in legal action.
Rehearsal and Performance
TBCompositions wants to help the next generation of musicians too. By purchasing or commissioning music from TBCompositions, you are permitted to take and use recordings from rehearsals and performances for learning purposes. For example, having your players/yourself listen to hear things that went well, or things that could have been better. We hope you do this to do better for both you and your performers and make them better musicians. All works purchased by us will also be open to minor adjustments of tempo and dynamics based on the acoustic environment you are in. We hope you take advantage of this to make your performance the best it can be. All that being said, if any recordings are used publicly or any major adjustments are made to tempo and dynamics, legal action could be taken.
Changes in Music
If there are any wrong notes or a dynamic, rehearsal mark, etc. is out of place, we are very sorry, and we are happy to inform you what/where it should be. If it is an obvious placement error or accidental error, and easily correctable, feel free to change without needing permission. Please still reach out and let us know so we can get that fixed. If it is a major error, please reach out and ask so we can inform you what/where it should be and get it fixed. Failure to contact us for any major changes could result in legal action. We also understand needing to adjust certain small things to make it easier/smoother for your ensemble. Small things such as changing an accidental or dynamic may also be done without permission. Major things like changing rhythms or words require permission to change. Failure to request permission could result in legal action.
Courtesy Recordings
Each work of music on our website will come with a playback audio and/or video from the notation software we use. These are courtesy only. If anybody uses these videos or audios without permission from us, we will take legal action. These videos and clips can be found on various social media platforms. Any profiles using these videos that are not also found on this website are not from TBCompositions. We are not responsible for any payments made to any other accounts.
Gaining permission
Gaining permission to perform for any type of currency or record for use outside the rehearsal will require permission from TBCompositions, likely for royalties, a flat charge, or a yearly fee, depending on what you want to do with the music. This price will vary per work of music. To gain permission, fill out the “Permission Form”. This form does not automatically give you any permission for anything; it is just letting us know your interest. We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone.
